Keep it welcoming
Write like you are inviting someone into your kitchen: clear, kind, and never complicated for the sake of it.
Use the Foodies colours
Make reading easy
Use roomy spacing, strong headings, short paragraphs, and a sensible amount of text on each screen.
Reuse before creating
Use shared layout pieces and styles whenever possible. This keeps every page familiar and avoids a messy codebase.
Keep shared navigation fixed
Every page uses the one header in the shared base layout. Keep the primary links in the same order—Explore, Recipes, Competitions—and keep Roadmap in the footer. Do not reposition or restyle this navigation for one page only.
Plan, then check
Add substantial work to the published roadmap before implementation. Before handing off UI code, run the shared-layout check, Twig linting, asset compilation, and a whitespace check; include these rules in the working brief for every new visual change.
Build for everyone
Use clear labels, enough colour contrast, keyboard-friendly links, and helpful words—not only icons.
